8 inch beard It had a second one that was only 3/4 of an inch 7/8 inch spurs. I called him in from about 700 yards away he dragged his two little girlie along for the ride. We saw him way across a field at Canton. It was about 945 and the birds had shut down about 645. We were about to head to the truck when we saw them. I ran to get where I thought they were headed because They wouldn't answer any calls. But we were at the edge of public land and couldn't get any closer.Right by the edge I jumped two different hens. and couldn't see the other 3 any more so were stayed put for about 5 min. and the two we jumped kee-kee'd so I kee-kee'd at them a couple times, and when I did old tom started gobbling his brains out. Every time I would do it he would gobble and he changed direction and brought his little friends to about 40 yards. Then I dropped him

Awesome, I guess the stoeger works, huh.
I get my last chance at one tomorrow morning. Didn't get to go out much with Christians baseball schedule. Steelforce scored a 27 pounder with a 10 1/2 inch beard and spurs just over an inch.

Ouch, a devastating blow coming from the Arkansas corner. It's OK. You all can laugh if you want to. I can take it. However, this is not yet the end and he who laughs last..........

Hey, I'm amazed that you guys can kill 'em. I've never been. I beat the odds and got drawn for Cherokee this year and then had to stay home. I guess it's just sour grapes on my part.

It's the most challenging local hunting for sure, but there's enough around here even the worst outdoorsman can get lucky once in a while. (ask thecoleman about that)
