Very Nice. How far away are the houses that surround the area?

the camera is facing the east, the county road and one house is about 150 yards to the east.. my father in laws house is directly behind the camera to the west about 250 yards.. That eight point is my dream buck to kill with a bow.. the deer might stick around closer on some of their land come next season, cause the fact that my in-laws dogs are getting old and dont venture off as much as they used too..

I know folks say to never go into a bucks bedding area BUT, I've had my best luck setting up a stand in the middle of the bedding area in the middle of the night at least 4 months before opening day. Set the stand as high as you can get it and don't cut any shooting lanes. The trick is to get into the stand at least 2 hours before you know they are moving in. Scent control is a must now. When you approach the area make sure the wind direction doesn't cross the feeding area and you come in the opposite direction as the food source.
When the sun comes out you may have a chance at him after he's already bedded down. You can't leave the stand in daylight. Wait a long time after dark before you move out of the stand and be prepared to watch him just out of range all day long. Chances are he won't be close enough for a shot for several settings, but if you have the patience and the time it can and will pay off.
I'm seeing several bucks in the pics. Is the buck/doe ratio high enough to hold them in the area during the rut? Also, how close is the bedding area to the camera and in which direction?

redmist, i put the camera out on the 14th and checked it a week later and I had 122 out of 122 pictures on there.. I had that little buck thats in the top pic, and 2 or three other smaller bucks, no big boys this time, but that feeder slings corn way further out than the IR beam will trigger.. As far as the bedding area goes, I think they are going across the road to the east and bedding in a draw that I cannot hunt.. My father in law has 40 acres total.. There's used to be a pond to the north of this feeder , the dam broke on it around 10 years ago, its thick with willows, johnson grass ect...I have seen deer down there before.. It is about 85 yards to the north of the feeder.. the trails coming to the feeder come from across the road, and from down in the dry pond. I need one more camera before Oct 1 '08 and monitor the trails coming to and from the feeder then set up from there.. rembember chad hane that killed the monster buck coming from his feeder in suburban stillwater back in '04?? thats what I would love to do.. I want to have these deer on corn all season long, get them comfortable around there.. they are getting used to that camera too..

One was on lake road (Bell Cow Lake). The other was about 2 miles east of the complex.
