I am set for the Cherokee GMA controlled hunt in a couple weekends. Traveling so much lately I don't know if I will have the energy to do it.

Won't be able to make it down to Oklahoma turkey hunting like I usually do every year.
Season doesn't open here in Nebraska until the 12th, but it runs until May 18th, plus we can kill 3 birds!!

That's awesome. I've killed two hens with a bow but never anything with a beard.

Steelforce and I went on Monday morning. We hit the locater call and heard 2 across the fence, one the other direction, and 2 more farther off. We moved about 200 yards and set up behind a log facing an open field. It took about 2 minutes of calling and the bird was within 60 yards. Another minute of calling and Steelforce took him at about 30 yards. He weighed in at 18 pounds with a 6 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. It was a very exiting 3 minutes.
We continued hunting but the one I was after that morning was henned up. He answered once then went silent and followed the hens the other way.
