This summer, while brushhoging I hit something and looked back and had hit a Hen on the nest. That is the first time that I have had one set on the nest and let me run over them. I hated it but it couldn't be helped.

We had one nesting in our fenceline. My brother in law was clearing out the garbage out of the fenceline and it nearly made him streak his drawers. Unfortunately, none of the eggs ever hatched and in late July, we finally had to run the hen off and break the eggs so she would get on with her life. I suspect she would have stayed all summer long if we hadn't. BTW, we knew we were about a month and a half past when the eggs should have hatched, since we knew when we first scared her off.
