Outstanding, how long have you been trying to draw? Congratulations on a nice trophy. Do you plan to send it to a taxidermist?

Outstanding, how long have you been trying to draw? Congratulations on a nice trophy. Do you plan to send it to a taxidermist? He has been trying to draw a tag for 18 yrs, he took it to the taxidermist the other day. He figures he prolly wont kill many more elk so he is gonna get it mounted. jn

18 years! Looks like I willo have to keep trying for a lot longer. I think this year will be my fourth or fifth try. I agree with getting it mounted. An Elk in Oklahoma is a once in a lifetime thing now.

I went up there last year and stuck a 5x5 but clipped a limb and hit shoulder bone only got about 2 inches of penetration im sure he is still alive if somebody else didnt get him. This year went with rifle and didnt even see any elk and barely any sign thanks to the unseasonably warm weather and serious lack of the white stuff. Zero snow when there should have been about a 3-4 foot base. But we had a blast and are going to try again next year maybe with the powdergun during late rut. Hope we will have some luck. Its a different game in the thin air.

I've been tyring to draw in for about 14 years now. Maybe my turn is coming. Next year I plan on a trip to New Mexico for a powder gun hunt for elk and muleys, and if I can swing it, a trip to Colorado with apexpredator.
