The rest of you might want to know, about 10 to 12 years ago during archery season I shot at the same doe, in the same trail, from the same stand 13 days in a row and she was only 13 yards away for every shot. I'm much better now, though.

Redmist, Keep your chin up. Even the great Howard Hill had off days and wasn't always the great Howard Hill. I remember reading in one of his books or stories about a clean miss on an animal at 5 yards. That is 15 feet, basically across the living room. I can see it happening on a rabbit or something. Problem is the target was an African Bull Elephant.

redmist don't feel like the lone ranger. I have heard all sorts of stories like that one. I remember quail hunting out near Nash when I was a kid. a Single bird came up after we had busted a covey. I shot twice, my dad shot once the other three guys in the line shot 5 times each. Unless it had a heart attack I'm sure that bird died of old age somewhere telling stories to his grandkids.

I've got plenty more stories about the one that got away myself.

Yea, this could be the longest thread on the board, quickly. We better stop while we both have some pride left.

I watched a few Howard Hill videos on the internet. That guy is amazing. I wish I had that kind of talent.
