I know we are gearing up and getting ready to go. Time to annoy those families with your incessant turkey calling techniques! LOL!!! The turkey hunting videos are being broke out and dusted off. The fever is starting to set in.

was out riding yesterday and saw several turkeys which i got pretty worked up with my mouth call. I was talking to a jake and he was struttin around actin all tough until Mr. Longspurs came out and rushed in on me. Man it was awesome. The birds are really starting to respond well to calling andI cant wait till opening day.

I stalked to within 20 yards of her using a dried up creek bed. She was in the edge of a field.

I took my boy out to a makeshift ground blind Tuesday morning. When the sun came up there were 4 decent sized toms that were roosting in the tree we were under. I talked with them for about an hour before they finally flew. It was great to share the experience with him.

Saw a nice flock of 26 birds today. Most were very young, but there was one big boy that seemed to stay about 50 yards in front of the rest of them. When rifle season is over, I'm gonna stick that sucker.
